Games To Watch - Week Four (9/22)

Cascia Hall Commandos (1-2) at Wagoner Bulldogs (3-0) The Wagoner Bulldogs have won 40 straight games, only 2 shy of the state record held by the Ada Cougars (1993-1996). The Commandos were the last team to beat the Bulldogs, 21-17 on October 3, 2014. Wagoner has won two of the last three meetings, by a combined score of 65-35.  The Bulldogs squeaked by Ft. Gibson 27-21 in week three, while the Commandos were throttled 52-15 by 2A power Oklahoma City Millwood. Mustang Broncos (2-1) at Owasso Rams (3-0) The Bill Blankenship era at Owasso has begun with an electric start. The Rams are currently undefeated and have won there three games by a combined score of 153-51. The Broncos have won two of the last three meetings. These two teams are looking to overtake the District 6A-II 2 crown from Union. The winner of this game will have the upper hand. Games to Watch - Week Three (9/15)

Coweta Tigers (1-1) at  Catoosa Indians (2-0) The Catoosa Indians are looking for their first 3-0 start to a season since 2011, when they lost to Clinton in the 4A State Semifinals. Coweta won last years meeting 23-0. Last week, the Indians knocked Class 5A title contender Collinsville Cardinals. In their last 10 meetings with Class 4A teams, the Tigers are 3-7. Carl Albert Titans (2-0) at  Ardmore Tigers (2-0) These two teams were 10 points away from meeting in last years Class 5A State Championship game. The Tigers fell to Bishop McGuinness 38-28 in the semifinals. McGuinness lost to Carl Albert for the championship. Carl Albert has won four of the last five meetings between these to teams. High School Games To Watch - Week Two (9/8)

Jenks Trojans (0-2) vs Union Redskins (2-0) This years Backyard Bowl is looks different than his has the past few years. The Trojans have stumbled out of the gate, losing to Owasso and Bixby by a combined score of 83-28. The Trojans have not had an 0-3 start to a season since 1968. The Redskins and Trojans have met to play for four of the last six 6A-1/6A Football Championships. Union has won its games by a combined score of 64-22. Collinsville Cardinals (1-1) at Catoosa Indians (1-0) In the last 10 meetings between these two teams, the Cardinals lead 6-4. The Cardinals have won the last three meeting by a combined score of 110-24. Catoosa beat Sallisaw 28-13 in their season opener. The Class 4A Indians hung close in the first half of last seasons matchup before the 5A Cardinals pulled away for a 42-10 win. High School Games To Watch - Week One (9/1)

Each week, I will take a look at a few of the higher profile games, rivalry games, or games with big implications. I will also take a look at the game I will be covering each week. These are not picks but more of just a look at the matchup.  Jenks Trojans (0-1) at Bixby Spartans (0-0) The Jenks Trojans are coming off of their worst loss since a 45-0 loss to Booker T Washington on November 11, 1983. That’s long before any of the current players were born. In the past five meetings between these two teams, Jenks is 5-0 and has won by an average of 31 points. The Spartans are coming off of a season that saw them win their third consecutive 6A-II title. Wagoner Bulldogs (0-0) at Coweta Tigers (1-0) The Wagoner County Showdown has lacked luster in recent years. Wagoner, the reigning three-time 4A state champion, has defeated the 5A Tigers six of the last eight meetings, including the last 4.
