High School Games To Watch - Week Two (9/8)


Jenks Trojans (0-2) vs Union Redskins (2-0)
This years Backyard Bowl is looks different than his has the past few years. The Trojans have stumbled out of the gate, losing to Owasso and Bixby by a combined score of 83-28. The Trojans have not had an 0-3 start to a season since 1968. The Redskins and Trojans have met to play for four of the last six 6A-1/6A Football Championships. Union has won its games by a combined score of 64-22.


Collinsville Cardinals (1-1) at Catoosa Indians (1-0)
In the last 10 meetings between these two teams, the Cardinals lead 6-4. The Cardinals have won the last three meeting by a combined score of 110-24. Catoosa beat Sallisaw 28-13 in their season opener. The Class 4A Indians hung close in the first half of last seasons matchup before the 5A Cardinals pulled away for a 42-10 win.


Broken Arrow Tigers (0-2) at Owasso Rams (2-0)
The Owasso Rams have started the Bill Blankenship era on fire, beating Jenks and Bartlesville by a combined score of 104-24. The Tigers have struggled in their first two games, losing to Union and Southlake Carroll (TX). Owasso looks to be ready to dethrone the Union/Jenks Championship run.



**Game I Am Covering**

Claremore Zebras (1-0) at Rogers Mounties, Arkansas (1-0)
The Claremore Zebras will take a trip to The Natural State and take on the Mounties of Rogers High School in Rogers, Arkansas. Last season, Rogers came to Claremore and went home with a 26-20 win over the Zebras. In week one, the Zebras dismantled East Central 49-0 while the Mounties squeaked out a 34-33 win over Siloam Springs.
